Every summer, before our family leaves on vacation, I put the lights on timers and put our mail on hold so it doesn’t look like we are on vacation. It’s just as important to prepare for Cyber Security while on vacation as well. Here are tips to keep you safe this summer:
• Don’t post information about travel plans on social media and save the pictures and updates for when you return home.
• Keep your electronic devices with you at all times.
• When you return, change passwords of accounts accessed on the road.
• Do not access your credit union accounts via public Wi-Fi networks (i.e. hotel, restaurants and airport)
• Make operating system and software updates recommended by your devices.
Be cyber wise on vacation so that you can truly enjoy your time away. Enjoy your summer travels!
