Find time to be a HAPPY Mom

Today I'd like to share a remedy for the fatigue and stress part that work for me – ME TIME.

Being a stay at home mom with two kids under five is…exhausting…and stressful…and very rewarding. Today I'd like to share a remedy for the fatigue and stress part that work for me – ME TIME.

This simple act allows me to de-stress and reset my brain. Afterwards, I’m mentally and physically ready to be my kids mom again. It doesn’t take a huge effort either, just finding time each day is what’s important

Here are my TOP ways to relax and find that “ME TIME”:

Hang out:
Going out to dinner or movie with your friends is a great way to talk about the stresses of your day or just get them off your mind completely.  Not to mention it is always nice to have a conversation with an adult and not always a two or four year old J

Music:
After a long day I like to relax with my headphones listening to my music. Most of the time is country or maybe classical if I really need to relax.  I love Pandora playlists, but if I want to listen to a specific artist, I head to Spotify.

Exercise:
When I get up the energy to exercise, I can actually feel the stress leave my body. Even just a simple short workout like a 20-minute run or walk does wonders.  I like to vary it up with cardio one day and strength and conditioning another, but even just fresh air helps me relax at times.

A favorite TV show or Movie:
Much of my viewing habits these days consist of watching endless episodes of Paw Patrol or some other kid’s show.  Don’t tell anyone, but I actually love that show.  But getting the theme song out of my head can be maddening. So after the kids go to bed I will turn on some HGTV or Netflix and nobodies telling me what to watch!

Relax with your Beverage of choice:
Aaahhhh…do you feel that? Whether it is wine, tea, beer, or peppermint mocha (my favorite), nothing feels better than to sit down, relax and sip on that stress-relieving beverage.  I personally like to pair this up with a good TV show or movie.

Get lost in a good book:
For getting my mind off the everyday issues of being Mom…there is nothing like a good book.  Doesn’t matter what kind as long as it helps you focus on you for a change.

So I hope you can takeaway some ideas and set aside some “ME TIME” for yourself.  And if you have any favorite ways to relax we would love to hear them in the comments below!
