New Ideas for Thanksgiving Dinner
With Thanksgiving right around the corner…you are probably already planning for the meal, whether you’re just bringing a dish or hosting the family. It’s a fun time to gather, enjoy friends and family and be thankful for all the good in our lives.
Thanksgiving can also be stressful – you know feeling – why isn’t anyone eating my squash? No one complemented my pumpkin pie? Is the house ready for guests?
Maybe this year Thanksgiving dinner will be a bit less stressful. Here are a couple ideas for you to consider
- Each family has their own thanksgiving traditions, so one way to reduce stress is to honor your family traditions and make the traditional foods guests expected. Then add a new dish or two you feel has the potential to be a hit.
- Here’s my favorite Thanksgiving desert recipe, Carmel Apple Triffle. It was a big hit for me; our family loved it! Plus, it is quick and easy to make. I found it on FrugalFinatic.com
- Another stress buster for me is to write everything down. First, what dishes will I prepare, then which recipes will I use, followed by the required ingredients and the steps needed to make it happen. As I work through my list I check off what has been completed, which feels really good. That’s my game plan.Just like the Packers, I stick to my game plan.
Hopefully “my” game plan works out a bit better than the Packers has lately. Either way, I’ll let you know!
